Clayfield Therapy

Clay Field therapy is a sensorimotor body art therapy modality that supports trauma healing in children, adolescents and  adults. In this unique therapy, body movement and touch through our engagement with  the clay field, support the generation of new neural pathways providing  alternate responses to trauma memories. Working in a bottom -up approach and using senses and hands/body encounter with the clay field allows you to tell your story in a different way - often without words. This is an advantage particularly for children and young people who may not have the words to express their inner world.  It is also very beneficial for adults when the verbal storytelling is overwhelming..

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy is based on the idea that negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours are the result of unprocessed memory resulting from distressing events. Bilateral stimulation as in the form of eye movement creates neurological change in the brain to support reduction of distress and strengthen useful and positive ways of thinking related to traumatic events. EMDR has been used extensively with PTSD and is now being used with a variety of psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression and as treatment for other disturbing life events.
